On July 6, 2020, the International Diplomatic Mission signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the President of the Association of Ukrainians in the Canary Islands, Mr. Andriy Blinda, who is convinced that “In exile, you need to keep in touch with your historical homeland.
It is very important that the culture and traditions of our people – the pride of any nation – are preserved and developed in the Ukrainian diaspora around the world. Our UEIC Association does its best to ensure that adults and children speak their native language and communicate with their compatriots.
President of the International Diplomatic Mission Oleksandr Volkov stressed that “the issues of intensifying cooperation with foreign Ukrainians, meeting their national, cultural and linguistic needs, attracting the potential of the Ukrainian diaspora to establish a positive image of Ukraine in the world, promoting economic interests are the main tasks of our diplomats.

The Association of Ukrainians in the Canary Islands unites not only hundreds of Ukrainians, but also other associations and organizations. AUCO’s closest partners are the travel company Tenerife Prestige and the International Charitable Association Tenerife Punto Media. AUCO was founded on November 22, 2017.

Tasks of AUCO:
Association of Ukrainians to work for the benefit of Ukraine as an equal European country.
Providing assistance to citizens of Ukraine, information support in social, legal and other issues.
Collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate of Ukraine to enable the provision of consular services and consultations, which will greatly simplify the solution of many important issues for Ukrainians living in the Canary Islands. For example: replacement of passport, driver’s license, obtaining powers of attorney and pension issues.
Ensuring contacts between non-governmental organizations of Ukraine and Spain.
Creation of a cultural and sports center on the basis of the Association.
Publication in local media and on the AUCO website of articles and reports about its activities.
Establishing business contacts with associations and federations uniting people from Ukraine and other former Soviet republics living in Spain, exchanging experiences and implementing joint projects.
Carrying out of cultural and mass actions.
