On December 11, 2020, IHO INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC MISSION OF PUBLIC DIPLOMACY, represented by the Director of the Department Ihor Hryb, and the Society for Support of Ukraine (Ukrainas atbalsta biedriba, Republic of Latvia), represented by Lane signing a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Tetyana Lazda noted that in the Republic of Latvia activists of the Society of Support of Ukraine organize numerous charitable, informational events, exhibitions, meetings with famous Ukrainians, journalists, raise funds to help children defenders of Ukraine wounded in hospitals, actively cooperate with Latvian organizations SOS Ukrainasija SOS Assistance to the Ukrainian Army) and Ukrainas konfliktā cietušo atbalsta fonds (Assistance to Victims of the Russian-Ukrainian War), which organize the treatment and rehabilitation of the wounded in Latvian medical institutions (https://www.facebook.com/uabiedriba).
According to the articles of the Memorandum, the parties agreed to develop and support cooperation, in particular, in the development of relations between Ukraine and Latvia, the development of civil society in Ukraine, the development of public life of the Ukrainian diaspora and more.
“The conclusion and further implementation of the articles of the Memorandum of Cooperation between our organizations will strengthen the interaction of the Ukrainian state with foreign Ukrainians, protect the rights and interests of Ukrainians abroad, promote Ukraine in the world,” said Igor Hryb.
During the meeting, they discussed Ukraine’s foreign policy priorities and current challenges, as well as key areas for further cooperation.
The support provided by Ukrainas atbalsta biedrība is a solid foundation for the development of a democratic society and strengthens political and economic ties between our countries, said the President of the Mission.
Oleksandr Volkov thanked Ukrainas atbalsta biedrība for the long-term and fruitful support of our state, as well as for the significant contribution to the formation and development of friendly relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia.
